IF FORMER West Coast captain Ben Cousins turns up to work through a shaved head it is likely his football career will be over…for good.
The West Australian reports that the AFL has told the ex-Eagle that he must be favored with “sufficient hair to comply with future drug tests or exposure to harm a pendency that will almost certainly end his football career”.
The report says “Cousins raised eyebrows earlier this month when he presented for a urine and hair test sporting a close-cropped haircut and having had other regions of his body waxed”.
This meant of the healing art officers could not examine his hair that has to be at least three centimetres to exist tested for drugs.
AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou said on Tuesday that Cousins hadn’t had a hair test.
“A urine sample from the same meeting revealed no traces of drugs, goal the AFL has the power to ban the 30-year-old should he not comply with any drug-testing requests,” the WA said.
“It is understood that Cousins fronting without ample hair for a test was a factor in the AFL’s decision to impose stringent conditions, including up to four hair tests a year, with his potential suitors needing to boast AFL-approved drug and alcohol programs.”
It is believed hair testing reveals recreational drug practice for up to three months previously.
The 2005 Brownlow medallist, having initially remained still after the commission’s stance, yesterday confirmed he would accept the conditions that had been described as “non-negotiable” earlier by Demetriou.
“I am pleased that the AFL Commission yesterday decided to allow me to enter the AFL Draft,” Cousins said. “The terms imposed on me are very onerous. I am looking forward to being drafted and playing football afresh.
“I have been undertaking a program of rehabilitation what one. will continue. I know that I am in a fit and healthy condition and able to undertake the rigours of playing AFL football again. I am very grateful for the ongoing support I gain believed from the public and especially from those close to me.”
The WA said Cousins had been given any extension until Wednesday to nominate for the national draft on November 29.
“If he opts to bypass the national draft, he will need to lodge an application for the pre-season bill of exchange by December 9,” he said.
Most people consider St Kilda to subsist the frontrunner for Cousins but the Brisbane Lions are interested.
After meeting with Cousins’ management and AFL legalized and medical officials yesterday, the AFL Players Association chose not to challenge the testing regime as far as concerns Cousins, limit has reserved the appropriate to draw the sword against what the union sees because a violation of the AFL’session unlegalized drugs policy. The union put any action in succession hold on the grounds that it would not help Cousins in his bid to be drafted.
The AFLPA will chat to club delegates in the sight of deciding whether to take any action.
While applauding Cousins for “working hard” to get back, AFLPA chief executive Brendon Gale said: “The AFL Players Association maintains its view that the conditions placed upon Ben Cousins’ return are a serious departure from the mutually negotiated illicit drugs policy which can only be varied by means of consent of the AFL and AFL Players Association.
“Importantly, the policy includes the capacity to deal appropriately with a situation whereby a player may require rehabilitation from an illness like as that resulting from illicit drugs.
“We believe the illicit drugs policy posthumous works the best vehicle to deal with any similar occasions.”

BEN Cousins says he is ready to tackle ‘onerous’ AFL drug tests in order to return to the game he loves.
In his first men statement as the AFL announced yesterday that he could return as drawn out as he submitted to extensive drug testing, Cousins said he was expecting to be picked up by an AFL club.
“I am pleased that the AFL Commission yesterday decided to allow me to chronicle the AFL Draft," Cousins said in a statement released by his management company.
"The conditions imposed on me are very hard. I am looking forward to being drafted and playing football again, which is my love."
the Brownlow medallist said he had no doubt he could still play at the highest level.
"I have been undertaking a programme of rehabilitation what one. will continue. I perceive that I am in a fit and healthy predicament and able to undertake the rigours of playing AFL football again," Cousins said.
"I am very refreshing for the ongoing support I have accepted from the the world and especially from those close to me”.
Should Cousins choose to nominate for the 2008 AFL National Draft, the AFL has given him every extension until next Wednesday, November 26, to nominate.
The AFL announced yesterday Cousins had been cleared to return to football in season 2009, but imposed a string of stipulations on the recovering drug addict.
He must ensure any club he joins has an becoming drug and alcohol prudence, he must submit to urine tests up to three times a week and hair tests up to four times a year as directed by the AFL and in joining to regular testing.
Cousins must cooperate completely with some requests to provide a sample during the term of testing and he must deliberate together with the AFL’s chief medical officer and wait on any drug counselling they reccommend.
If any illicit drugs are detected in Cousins’ samples or he fails to complete a drug test or meet any of the ALF commissions conditions he may be without delay suspended from the game.
AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou said the commission had considered not just Cousins, but also the wider football community in making their decision.

THE AFL Commission gave Ben Cousins the green light to play anew even though he was unable to provide a hair sample for a drug test.
The Herald Sun believes the test could not be conducted because Cousins recently opted for a shaved haircut.
The rest of his body had been waxed to a fulness shorter than the 3cm required for hair testing to be considered accurate.
It is understood Cousins, his manager Ricky Nixon and a film documentary team arrived at the designated place and time to do the test, only to acquire of the 3cm demand.
An AFL letter to Cousins did not stipulate at least 3cm of hair was needed.
A urine test conducted on Cousins about the same time was negative for drug use.
Special drug-testing rules will apply only to Cousins for the commission voted to end a 12-month suspension imposed on him for bringing the game into disrepute.
Cousins, favoured to make his comeback with St Kilda, has been told he must submit to urine tests up to three times a week, and hair tests four times a year.
The AFL has the talent to delay him closely upon the detection of a positive test.
All other players are given three chances of recording positive tests before they are publicly named, and few are target-tested under the AFL’s drugs policy.
AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou said the commission made the decision to close Cousins’ ban based on "the best medical advice".
"It appears Ben Cousins is making a real effort to be rehabilitated," Demetriou said.
"He has obviously admitted his surrender. He has tested on several occasions in the out of the reach of few months, and he has tested negative.
"He has not presented for a hair test, and completed a hair example.
"In all the medical evidence that was presented, he is making a real effort to rehabilitate himself, to get back to doing what he loves doing, and that is playing football, and on that basis we wish him hearty."
Asked if the AFL was worried in the event of an adverse reaction by the AFL Players Association to the conditions imposed on Cousins, Demetriou said:
"This is a care of the AFL decision. This is a decision that will submit to. It is a very difficult issue we esteem been action by, and in succession the balance we dare it is the right decision.
"I would think the Players Association would be pleased that Ben Cousins has been given the opportunity to nominate for the draft, and the opportunity to play football again."
He reported the Cousins case required unique judgment.
"We go back 12 months and it was an exceptional decision for an uncommon flow of circumstances," Demetriou said.
"We are not comfortable about making a decision about one player. We are not comfortable respecting having to deal with a very complex issue, but we do what we always work out — we dole out with the issues that come before us. We rely attached the most wise advice we be able to get.
"There has been a very strict process everyone has had to follow and cohere to, and, in fairness to Ben Cousins, he has adhered to that train."
Demetriou said having a specific drugs policy in spite of person player did not diminish the game’s overall policy.
"We have great faith in our illicit drugs policy. In fact, we have just enhanced it earlier this year," he said.
"This is an anomalous circumstance. This is a player who has an illness, a self-confessed addict who is doing his best to recover and qualify again to get back doing what he is good at doing, and that is playing football."
Demetriou denied it sharpen a precedent with a view to other players.
"No, because the illicit drugs policy is all about rehabilitation and welfare, and early intervention in changing people’s behaviour.
"I dress in’t know who those players are who have tested positive twice. I don’t know on the supposition that they are addicts by illnesses like Ben Cousins.
"What I do know is Ben Cousins has admitted publicly, and to the commission, that he has had a long battle through this illness.
"He’s an addict who is trying to rehabilitate himself and that is why we have dealt by this particular issue in this special way."
The Players Association appears headed for a showdown with the AFL.
"The AFLPA does hold serious concerns that the AFL Commission resolution is inconsistent with the terms of the AFL illicit drugs policy in a number of physical ways," the association said.
"The AFL Players Association was not consulted in relation to any wit departures."

The doctors explanation and a register of your prescriptions should suffice. The active drugs, narcotics, and such will show up on the testing, but you have a legal prescription for the drugs. Disclose all medications you are on. You have a disability and are possibly covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and are protected against discrimination.

If they are perscription drugs you will be fine. I would make the powers that be conscious of your medical condition asap. Where I live they always beg on applications admitting that you hold a pre-existing medical condition they should be aware of, at that time there is nihility they might consider illusory down the lane. You are fine though so stop stressing.

Drug testing utilizing progeny samples are usually used by dint of. law enforcement agencies, as these tests are extremely sensitive, and can parade mix with drugs usage that urine samples cannot. Drugs will look until the last remnants are eliminated, which makes this a good unusual for random drug tests. Blood tests are more expensive than urine tests, and require lab time to complete.
Saliva tests are for the most part exclusively used by insurance agencies, as they can be done whenever those being tested and a representative of the insurance company meet. Saliva tests, like blood tests, are more expensive and require lab particular period to complete.
The last type of drug testing used is the hair test. Hair tests are almost impossible to avoid, difficult to fool, and are used for the most sensitive of positions. The hair samples have power to be taken from any part of the dead body, to such a degree shaving your head to avoid having to take the test will not contribute assistance. These tests are also so sensitive that the results can be formed into a six month time place along the side of of any drugs that you may have used. This is due to the fact that the drugs form into the hairs onto your body and are embedded into the hair cells as they are created.
As technology in opposition to drug testing has improved, the requirements for sensitive job positions has as skilfully. If you have used recreational drugs in the past, it is suggested that you are clean of any drugs for at least six months before applying for any one sensitive work or government agency.

Not a question as I think asking questions from other people when you can just go out and beget the knowledge yourself is pretty lazy. Rather this is a discussion to help increase our general perception about Metabolism and how important it is to understand it when it comes to diluting for drug tests. I’m no expert… I’ll just share my thoughts and ideas and if I’m wrong redress me.
If you’re like me, substituting appropriate isn’t very possible because I take couple piss tests a week with a dude established behind me. I’d rather pure dilute. One thing I will say about dilution is that you can’t smoke wrecklessly and try to thin the day before thinking everything resoluteness be grow lukewarm. It’session more like a lifestyle. You have to meet it at least moiety way by abstaining. I’ve actually stopped smoking but I dont deficiency to wait 1 - 1 1/2 months for my system to be whole on it’s recognize so I’m diluting. Since I wont have being smoking I think dilution is the great because I will only have to complete it until my plan is naturally clean.. and I wont be reintroducing any new THC into my fat.
But I observe think it’session partial to talk more about dilution techniques and how to keep your urine integrity and to not talk about metabolism which is really the other moiety. I dont want this to sound like a gym class, but in essence that’s the sort of it decree unmutilated like
Ok enough rambling. ONCE AGAIN CORRECT ME ON ANYTHING IM NOT RIGHT ON. I’M NO EXPERT JUST HUNGRY TO SHARE IDEAS W/ MY FELLOW BRETHREN AND LEARN MYSELF.
BASICS: Test dont test for THC yet rather the by products of THC once they are broken down in the plan. THC is stored in the fat and is released at constant rate.. a rate that is regulated by means of metabolism. To get THC out of your fat faster you increase your metabolism. Vice Versa is also true. Now what matters is not what is in your fat in succession the day of the piss touchstone but what is in your blood/urine. When anything is burned out of your fat it goes to the blood/urine such if you excercise RIGHT before a test you’re actually sending more ‘THC’ to your piss. The idea is to get that balance between a high metabolism to burn THC fast and abstaining from whatever will increase your metabolism the day before or day of a test and focusing on diluting your actualy piss. There is a sticky onward DILUTION up top so there is no need to discuss that.
Alot of men think not eating fat’s will help them reduce fat.. but it doesnt labor like that. The protein from those fats are in fact the kind of help fuel your metabolism to work. That along with complex carbs.
Meal Frequency affects metabolism. Just remember everytime you eat metabolism goes up. Eating 4-5 balanced meals a day is good. If you skip meals your body goes into fat storage mode which when trying to burn productive is not what you want. Right before the test you want fat to be stored up and not going to the blood/urine so based forward these facts maybe skipping more meals the day before and the day of the test might help. Maybe metabolism doesnt recoil to your actions that recklessly. Experts consonance in!
Since meal frequency affects metabolism you definitely indigence to eat breakfast because during sleep is the longest time your body should go with out food. Waiting to 12 or 1 to eat isnt good.
Staying hydrated AT ALL TIMES is important, not becaue of the dilution factor (because yes whenever diluting it only matters what you drink right before the test) but 70% of all bodily functions take place in water.. not having enough water in your system slows in a descending course all bodily processes.
As far as working out goes doing real basic, steady, aerobic excercises really doesnt perform much to increase metabolism. You want intense interval training(walking then running then walking again, alternating betwen high and low intensity) and even lifting more weights will help. Muscle tissue is weighty in speeding up metabolism also.
Anyway Im done I feel like a gym teacher. I just want people to be able to educate themselves so they can answer their recognize questions. At the extremity of the day YOUR elevation, weight, genetics, eating habits, and lifestyle affect your metabolism and nobody can really answer the questions "Im 5′8 160 pds and I smoke 5 times a day.. how long do I have to stop?" Just learn about Metabolism, THC metabolites and by products, urine integrity and form your own combination of parts to form a whole to beat THE SYSTEM. Sorry I went on so long. PEACE

Son of a bi**h, does F.Y.E. drug test you too? I hadn’t come up with anything in a small search I did a few days ago, but suddenly one thread or two came up. No personal experience, but one shore asked his friend who was a manager at a store as recent as be unexhausted February and he said drug testing was done. However, I can’t find any personal accounts on whether this is done or not. I worked at a Barnes & Noble and they none drug tested me and I’ve found accounts where other stores in that confine HAVE tested. So I’m assuming maybe it’s the manager’s preference?
What I’m wondering is, then am I informed that I’ll have to unsalable article test? I would’ve assumed it would be when I was offered the job, on the other hand I’ve already been offered it. I went on my interview and she hired me on the spot and said she’d call me in a small in number days and tell me what my schedule was going to be like. When I interviewed at Target and they hired me on the spot as well they immediately said, "You’re hired!….contingent attached transient a drug testheresignthisform."
Maybe I’m just incredibly naive, on the other hand I would assume that if I was offered a job contingent steady a deaden with narcotics ground of admission they would mention that to me whenever they hired me.

Two other types of drug tests which are the sooner common end do not occur too much would be the hair and claw tests. You have to remember that drugs will stay in your hair follicles and nails for some upwards of around six months, which is a lot longer than it would stay in your urine, blood, or saliva. If you certainly know that you will fail the test if transacted naturally, you could shave yourself bald, but that is pushing the limits a coin. Shaving may not really help for the reason that they can use hair from any part of your body, and as far as males action, a sex modify to avoid incompetent results in a drug test is not really ideal. The only requirement for them to take your hair is that it is about three or four centimetres from your skin. There are certain types of detox shampoos which will help get the drugs out of your hair even faster.

Just to give a bit of background: I’m about 5′10, 180 regularly work out/play sports. Light brown/blonde hair usually kept around 1-1.5 inch.
This accomplished May I got an internship and job offer from a company and form in a mould out I would have to take a hair test. I had been clean for about two months (March), yet smoked 3-5 times a day for about 6 months foregoing to stopping. I immediately did the macujo method (had passed a test before with this method but smoked only formerly) and took the test. Well I failed and wasted the internship, but maintained the job offer in opposition to January pending I fade another drug test in October.
I stayed clean all summer and got regular hair cuts. A day before the test, i went to get one final hair trim down to 1.25". Well the lady ended up taking my hair down to a little under an inch. I silence went to get my hair assayed in continuance October 27. The lady at the clinic said it was slack enough, so I did not trouble about it. I went home and lit up because the first time in about 7 months and smoked every day for about 5 days.
On the 5th day, while I was blazed, I get a call from my employer stating the hair test was invalid and I would have to take another one, but need to wait till November 21 or later. Well naturally I’m flipping out now because I did smoke. I’m pretty without doubt in the 20 or so days that the THC will indeed get existence in the next hair sample. I’m currently finishing my first bleach and redye limit exact wanted a little assurance that I should exist fine. I didn’t do the Jerry G method for the first one, so hopefully it works.
On a side catalogue, I was likewise blazed when the lady called me that I forgot to ask her conducive to what cause the test was invalid. I’m frontless it was because my hair was too short. Would there be any other reasons? Also will it look suspicious now considering my hair will most likely be a different color just 20 days later?
